Tet Extravaganza!

Dear Parents,

Please have a look at this week's highlights!

Monday - Ms Thuy made a presentation about TET. She talked about the Tet tree, its colours and the reason why every Vietnamese family has one.  She also talked about the popular rice cake during Tet and even showed a real one. Ms Thuy has also shared with us lots of information about dragon dance, lucky money and Tet fruits. She finished everything by letting us watch a Tet music video with some fireworks too. We all joined in singing 'Xuan oi Xuan Xuan da ve'. Thank you Ms Thuy!

Tuesday - We had our EYFS Tet rehearsal. The children were so confident and they did a fantastic job singing and dancing infront of F2 and F3. Well done F1!

Wednesday - Ms Tam talked about banh chung (Vietnamese rice cake) and showed a video about it. The children were also given a chance to taste the sticky rice and they all loved it! Thank you MsTam!

Thursday - EYFS TET Celebration. All EYFS children did a fantastic job performing infront of all their parents and families. The parade went well and they all looked gorgeous in their Ao Dais. Well done everybody for a great Tet Celebration!

- We all had a wonderful time during our Tet party. The children shared food with each other and we were all very full in the end! Thank you parents for bringing in food and staying for the party!

Friday - Parachute and Bean bags! All of us had fun shooting bean bags in the hoops and playing with the very big parachute! We made the parachute go up, down, round and round and even had a go at going under it and lying on it! We had so much fun!

Newsletter 17.01.2014

We are very pleased to see that our 5 new children in F1X are gradually settling in to their new environment. Gianna, Nozomi, Ngan, Liam and Victor continue to explore the different learning areas in the classroom and our learning spaces as well such as the soft play room and fundino playground.
This week, we have introduced Healthy Living week with our children. During our circle sessions, we have read stories about eating nutritious food and talked about the different fruit and vegetables they can see in our role play area.
On Tuesday we made our scrummy fruit salad! The children had a go at naming the ingredients such as banana, strawberry, grapes and mango. They each had a turn at pouring and mixing the other ingerdients too! At snack time, we all shared the fruit salad and they truly enjoyed it!
One of our friends turned three years old on Wednesday too! Daiki celebrated his birthday and we all had a yummy cake for snack time.
Other activities in the classroom that the children enjoyed over the healthy living week include the lime playdough, the very hungry caterpillar sticking activity and our healthy eating themed role play area.
The  children have also been busy practising for their Tet Performance. They have been doing lots of singing and dancing at the moment. We all are looking forward to this event.
It has been another busy week and we hope that all the children would take a good rest over the weekend-- all geared up for another fun filled Tet week! :)

A great start!

Welcome back! We hope all of you had a great Christmas break!

All the children have settled right away in class and are showing more confidence in selecting and carrying out a variety of activities.  They all seemed very happy to see their friends and share experiences with them once again. Some of the children were able to share simple stories about their holidays and what presents they got from Santa. It is indeed very lovely to have all of them back!

This week, 5 new children also joined in our F1 class. They are Gianna, Ngan, Nozomi, Liam and Victor. Gianna is from the Philippines, Nozomi is from Japan and Ngan, Liam and Victor are from Vietnam. They have all begun exploring in and out of the classroom and interacting with the other children. At the moment, they only stay for a short period of time to settle them in well and make them more comfortable and happy, but after the Tet break, they will be with us based on their programmes. Welcome children and families! We hope that you will all have a happy and meaningful year with us!

This week, Ms Jacinth also joined in our team. She is a graduate trainee and will soom become a teacher herself. She will be with us until the end of February and until then, she will be helping us out in F1 and will be leading sessions as part of her training. Hope you will enjoy your time with us, Ms Jacinth!

New teacher

Hello everyone! I hope you have had a lovely Christmas holiday. My name is Ms Jacinth (Ya-sinth) and I am a trainee teacher. I did my first term of teaching practice in AP1 with children in F1 as well. I will be working closely with Ms Crislet and Ms Precious, and be with all of you until the 28th of February. I can't wait to get to know everybody! I know it's going to be so much fun! :)

Welcome to these gorgeous children!
