A Week of Adventure!

It has been a great week in F1! We had another ARC Visit and we met Lucca and Suki, 2 sweet and cuddly dogs. They were very friendly! They sniffed our hands and even let us stroke them! We really loved them! Thank you ARC!

Today, we went on another adventure as we visited Saigon Zoo! The children enjoyed walking around the Zoo, having a picnic and seeing different animals. We also saw the zookeeper feeding the girraffes with leaves just like what we do in our zoo role-play area. It was amazing!

Here are the photographs from this week.

Newsletter

This week, we focused on learning about zoo animals. The children engaged in various activities such as being zookeepers in our role play area, reading fiction and non fiction books about animals, colouring zoo animal photos, making arts and crafts in our workshop area and sorting animals in the Maths area. They have been making lots of different animal noises too! But most of all, they enjoyed our face painting activity where we decorated our faces with animals, superheroes and fairies.
On Tuesday, Vets from Animal Rescue and Care visited our class. They learned about taking care of the animals, particularly a cat. The children were all thrilled to give the cat a gentle pat. Thank you to Dr Nghia and the rest of the ARC staff.
In our circle sessions, we have been reading books about zoo animals such as Elmer the Elephant, Dear Zoo and Animals In The Jungle.
At the moment, the children are becoming more confident in using the English language. They have been responding in one to two words, short phrases and some in sentences. The children also continue to learn our key vocabulary in the classroom such as good morning, good bye, please, thank you, my turn, your turn, sharing, and gentle hands. Their listening skills have also improved as they are now more familiar with our regular routine.
Next week, we will continue to focus on zoo animals as we are looking at visiting the Saigon Zoo. How exciting! All the children did a fantastic job this week. Well done!

Have a restful weekend,

Ms Precious, Ms Crislet and the F1X team

Teddy bear's Picnic in BVIS!

What a busy and fun filled week we have had! Yesterday was our Teddy bears' picnic in BVIS. The children were all excited to travel in the bus as a big group with their teddy bears keeping them company during the trip! When we got to BVIS, the children all gathered in the field and met new friends and teachers from BVIS. We started our day by singing songs and then we had a go at playing in the soft playroom. The children enjoyed running and jumping around the big space whilst playing alongside new F1 friends from BVIS. After playing in the soft playroom, the children had their snack in the field. Upon finishing snack, the children started exploring the field as there were lots of fun and exciting activities set up for them to play with! The children made teddy bear puppets, did some colouring, read stories, played a parachute game with teachers and friends, and a whole lot more! We're sure the children had such a fantastic time  during our Teddy bears' picnic!  Well done F1X for making new friends and playing nicely! :)

Have a lovely weekend,

Fun Science Day!

On Wednesday, we all had a go at exploring various science activities in the classroom and the different learning spaces.
Prior to Science day, the children were introduced to 'Sid The Science Kid', a young boy who enjoys exploring, investigating and discovering new things. When the children came in, their teachers were dressed as Sid and very much ready to explore the activities. The children showed keen interest in doing various tasks such as using scented playdough (lemon grass, cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla), foam painting, colour changing milk experiment, magnets and a lot more! They particularly enjoyed playing in the soft playroom which was turned into a dark room. They used torches to spot different shapes and see different patterns.
All the children had a fantastic time exploring, investigating and discovering! Great job everyone! J

Have you seen Gulliver?

F3's Teddy, Gulliver, has gone missing. He was with us during our Teddy Bears' Picnic. If you have seen him, please bring him in class and for sure F3 children will be delighted to see Gulliver once again! Thank you very much!

Chuc Mung Nam Moi!

Chung Mung Nam Moi! We hope you all had a great Tet holiday.

The children came to school with lovely morning greetings for their teachers and friends. In the classroom, they continue to explore the different learning areas. Investigation area was a popular one for the children this week. They have been using magnets and the magnetic and non magnetic objects in the trays. Also, most of the children are showing interest in zoo animals. Some of them have been pretending to roar like tigers, trumpeting like elephants and hissing like snakes!

In our circle sessions this week, some children shared what they did over the holidays. We also continue singing our favourite songs and sharing stories with everybody. The children sat beautifully and chose to use their listening ears.

On Friday, Hannah turned 3! Everyone did a lovely singing of the birthday song and we all shared a yummy cake.

Next week, we will talk more about the different animals the children know. We will also learn the sound they make or even the way they move!

Have a lovely weekend,
Ms Precious, Ms Crislet and the F1X team
